GlobalEXECWomen Volunteer Recognized as One of the 55 Most Influential Foreign-Born Atlantans
ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA  - October 5, 2007 — Atlanta Magazine has selected GlobalEXECWomen volunteer Yelena Epova as an up-and-comer on its list of the most influential foreign-born Atlantans.

Russian-born Epova is recognized in the October issue for being a leader in the Atlanta business community who is also active in professional and community groups.

Ms. Epova earned a degree in engineering before immigrating to the United States from St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1990. However, she had never even touched a computer and instead began her life in the U.S. working as a grocery cashier.

In the meantime, Epova turned her love of math into an accounting degree from Georgia State University. Upon graduation, she did more than pass the CPA—Epova received the highest score in Georgia, placing her in the top 100 scores in the country.

Today, Epova is a partner at Habif, Arogeti & Wynne’s Tax Group and is well-known for her expertise on international tax issues.

“Yelena has been a key player at HA&W,” said Dan Simms, Managing Partner and CEO of the firm. “She was instrumental in developing our international practice as well as mentoring many of our staff.”

Epova also spends time volunteering with the Marcus Jewish Community Center and is a founding member of the executive team for GlobalEXECWomen, an Atlanta-based organization for female executives in international business.

“Yelena has been with us for more than five years and is one of our most dependable volunteers,” says Virginia Bradley, founder and publisher of GlobalEXECWomen.  “She is known for her quick response to inquiries, her authenticity and her vast network of high-level achievers in the local and international community.”
